Congo: Lancement de la campagne nationale de lutte contre les fistules obstétricales
Cette campagne sera menée par le Gouvernement congolais avec l’appui du Fonds des Nations Unies pour la population (UNFPA) qui entend mobiliser, cette année, 37,5 millions de francs CFA dans le cadre de la prévention et de la prise en charge chirurgicale et socio-économique. Elle a été lancée le 9 juin dernier à Brazzaville par le ministre de la santé et de la population, le Pr. Georges Moyen.
«La campagne que nous lançons a pour but d’éveiller les consciences sur cette tragédie. Il s’agit non seulement de traiter les femmes qui sont touchées, de les aider à retrouver leur dignité, mais aussi d’éviter que les fistules se produisent», a déclaré le représentant de l’UNFPA au Congo, David Lawson.
